What's Your Genre?

I've more or less decided that I'm schizophrenic when it comes to books. I love a great motivational non-fiction, thoroughly enjoy classics like "Pride and Prejudice", love me a great murder mystery, and eat up magical realism with a spoon! I've tried to narrow down a genre that is my favorite, but it just ain't happenin'!

So, what's your favorite genre? Or do you have multiple book reading personalities like me? Let me know... I'd love to hear!

P.S. Check out the comments from Mallary and Sasman on the post "Printed Copy or Ebook". I think they illustrate both sides of the discussion beautifully. Let us know YOUR thoughts!

  5. I write for the most part poetry, but my bookshelves range all over. Rereading "Team of Rivals" by Doris Kearns Goodwyn & "The Freeing of the Dust" by Denise Levertov. Don't like to limit myself. Recently been reading fantasy as well. All reading a pleasure.

  6. Bloggity, blog, blog! Just kidding! I saw your tweet and wanted to check it out. I love your blog, the music is gorgeous. E.L. Dotorow once said, “Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia.” I couldn't agree more!

  7. I love fiction where the worlds and plot are creative and original. I'm not one for anything too dark, as I read to escape and let my imagination run around! I also love non-fiction - but only certain types! For instance, I love a lot of scientific theory, but balk completely at math or medical or similar! Lizzy Ford

  8. Trash. I so love trash. Typical favorite is vampire cyberpunk - lots of mayhem, dead bodies everywhere.
